Phuket, Thailand

Not long in the UK & we head back to Asia for a very special event! To witness the wedding of David's dad & his long time partner Weisa. Attending was us, David's brother Richard, Weisa's daughters Goshka & Monica & Monica's husband David & their kids Sacha, Sinead & Kiana & Helena a family friend. Dinner was had at Savoey, a fantastic seafood restaurant, which had a band playing all the corny love songs from the 80s - it was perfect!! After that a couple of us, went to checkout the nightlife of Phuket & came across the "stereotype" image of Thailand!! The bars & the girls were all quite brazen & when we did go into one, I ended up playing Plot4 & Jenga with the girls - if you can belive that (check the photographic proof!!)
We packed a lot in 1 week!!
David & I stayed at the Burasari resort on Patong beach & it was a lovely boutique resort! It has Floyds restaurant (Keith Floyd UK restauranteur), & the resort ambience was lovely! Besides spending time poolside (when it was raining! yes it was monsoon time!), we did a lot of sightseeing with the family. It started clearing up the last few days & so took advantage going to the beach! The water is so warm & had a great day getting some sun!
We went to the famous Fantasea tourist attraction, which has a spectacular show of tigers, dancers, acrobats etc. We took a drive south of Patong, to the scenic lookouts, visited the largest Gem factory in the world (there was a $14.5k diamond pendant that I quite liked, but David thought it was a bit big!! he he he!!) We also went to the James Bond Island (where Golden Eye was shot), took an ox cart ride (really!!) & visited the markets!!
Went to this restaurant called Baan Rim Pa (best Thai restaurant on the island) & it was amazing!! The restaurant was situated over the cliffs looking across the Andaman sea. Besides the location being spectacular, the food was amazing & the service top class - highly recommend it to anyone going to Phuket.
All good things must come to an end - so back to the UK to start planning the next holiday!! It was a great holiday & Congratulations to Mr C & Weisa!!! May you have a wonderful life together filled with happiness & joy!!
