David's dream computer has arrived!

After some delays David's long awaited computer has arrived! Lord it looks like a massive server!!!
Ok here is the spec, hope I get it right -A custom made gaming rig with a Cosmos S chasis with a quad core CPU, 4GB RAM, 64GB SSD HDD with 1GB Nvidia 9800 GX2 graphics card, all powered by an Enermax 850W PSU and 2, 22"LG 2mm response time monitors!! Oh yes & he's set up theatre surround sound speakers (yes with a sub woofer and all)!!!
Guess he'll be AWOL for a few nights!! :)

Yorkshire - North England - w/e 23-25/8

There's a lot fewer long w/e's over here than in Oz, & this one in Aug, is the last one till Xmas. :(
We went up to Ilkley, Yorkshire (4hrs north from Windsor), where my cousin lives. Checked into a lovely little hotel & spent time walking in the moors (yes very English!) & visiting family. My cousins son, Daniel was celebrating his baptism & his 13th birthday and we all had a really good time!
We visited Bolton Abbey (C12th) & did some nature trails around there along a river! Its been a long time since I've gotten outdoors & walked & loved it!! Definitely missed it, so plan to get in a few more walks!!

Another dose of Aussie - Paul & Sonya visiting!

Paul & Sonya from Wollongong, Australia were over on a big European holiday! Their last leg was a week in London, spending a couple of days with us!

Picked them up from heathrow on Fri eve, this time without any dramas!! A couple of days spent with us & friends & then enjoying London for the rest of the week, when they head back home. It was nice catching up & they had great news to share with us. Paul proposed in Como, so we have newly engaged friends!! Congrats guys!


Caught a couple of movies - Mummy, Tomb of the dragon emperor and Hancock! Also, went into London to see a show (39 steps) a murder mystery comedy. Very cleverly done!! A late night dinner in Chinatown finished off the evening!

New SatNav - TomTom Go 930 Traffic

Well even though our Navman is only a yr old, it takes awhile to find the location. Not very reliable when you have no idea where your going!!

This just gave David an excuse to get a new one, which has a bit more intelligence to it! Well the TomTom looks good & even has a Yoda voice to choose from (& not just the voice but the linguistic way Yoda speaks, but gets annoying after a little while)!!

Czubala's visiting!

David's dad George & his wife Weisia made a stop in England for a week on their world trip! It was an exciting start (not in the good way!), when David picked them up from Heathrow & was driving home. A semi trailer decides to clip the rear of the Audi, lots of bumper damage but luckily no one was hurt! The car is pretty solid, so it was still driveable! Scary if it had been the small Peugot!!

Well after that, the holidays for the week went well! They covered much ground & tired even us out, with their commitment to see everything! Went to Bath, checked out Windsor & Eton (including the castle), Tower of London, walked the London Bridge, London eye, Madame Tussads, cruise etc etc... I was impressed!!

They are now in Canada enjoying the next leg of their holidays...

The car is now in for repairs & we have nice black Benz E220 as a replacement car till ours gets fixed!
